These changes will be implemented from Tuesday 14th April. Changes will mean more trains in early morning and late eveningAs a result of these changes passengers will see additional services on a number of key routes, which will provide new journey options and better connections for those still needing to travel. The timing of the additional services will be especially useful for those needing to travel in the early morning or late evening periods. Summary of changes from Tuesday 14th AprilThere will be the following additional services:
You can find out more about what we're doing to help reduce the risk of Coronavirus transmission here. Reduced programme of engineering works taking placeThe planned station closures will still go ahead over Easter so that some engineering work can continue, along with station improvements. These works are carried out by Network Rail to maintain and improve the rail network and improve the reliability of services.
The commissioning of new re-signalling system for the Hither Green area that was due to take place over the Easter holiday has been postponed. Network Rail and their contractors - Siemens and Balfour Beatty - were not able to complete the work in the four-day period as planned due to Public Health England social distancing guidelines. Instead, Network Rail will be carrying out general station improvements, signalling resilience in the Lewisham area and the installation of electrical safety equipment to improve the efficiency of our engineering work. Affected lines and stations will close as plannedThe planned line and station closures for the Easter weekend will be in operation with a replacement bus service, as advertised in journey planners and on the Southeastern website. We are encouraging people to follow the Government’s advice, and only travel if their journey is absolutely essential. For people who need to travel on affected routes a bus replacement service will run on a number of lines from Friday 10 April to Monday 13 April. There will also be additional services along the Bexleyheath line. Tickets will be accepted on all reasonable routes - London Underground between Victoria, Charing Cross, Embankment, Waterloo, Southwark, Embankment, & London Bridge. Tickets will also be accepted on London Bus routes 126, 261 & 314 between Bromley North and Grove Park. You can find out more about these works on our dedicated web page. Coronavirus measures remain in place on replacement busesSoutheastern, along with the rest of the rail industry is working to support efforts to delay the spread of coronavirus and to keep services running for essential travel. Social distancing measures will be implemented on replacement bus services. As part of our work to keep our passengers and staff safe, we have implemented enhanced cleaning and other measures to reduce the risk of viral transmission. You can find out more here. Can you believe it?
It is so shocking to hear that people are leaving their dog’s waste in trees, bushes and gutters it is also dangerous to wildlife and young children. Please act considerately as Gravesham staff are doing their best to keep our environment safe at this time of crisis. When out with the dog for your exercise each day Please pick up after them – then get on your way There are countless bins around can’t you see? So why do you hang their pooh in a tree? Please use the bins when you’re out for your roam-- or at least please take the bag home! THANK YOU KENT TOGETHER - HELPLINE LAUNCHED BY KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
A 24 hour helpline has been set up to support vulnerable people in Kent who need urgent help, supplies or medication. The helpline – called Kent Together - provides a single, convenient point of contact for anyone in the county who is in urgent need of help during the Coronavirus outbreak. It is a collaboration between KCC, central Government, District, Borough and local councils, the voluntary and community sector, the NHS, emergency services and other partners to ensure help is at hand for vulnerable people. It is also the place to report your concerns about the welfare of someone else. Kent County Council Leader Roger Gough said: “In every district and borough throughout Kent and Medway there has been an incredible and heartening response to this pandemic, and we have a huge army of remarkable, public-spirited volunteers who are ready and willing to help each other through these challenging times. “We now need to make sure that these vital resources are directed to where they are most needed. The new central helpline will link to Community Hubs across the county and ensure that we are effectively working hand in hand with the amazing teams out in the heart of communities in every part of Kent.” Kent Together is being coordinated by Kent County Council which will feed the information through the network of volunteers, district and borough council teams and local support groups, to ensure people get the support they need, when they need it. People’s needs will be assessed and staff will liaise with Community Hubs in the districts to prioritise those who need urgent help. Mr Gough added: “At this unprecedented time, we all need to support each other to cope with the changes to our lifestyles we’ve had to make in order to delay the spread of Covid-19. “I appreciate those radical changes have brought about difficulties and uncertainty and that we are all having to live our lives very differently. “I hope with the launch of this service we can help bring some sense of familiarity and comfort back to those who desperately need it.” If you are vulnerable and have an urgent need that cannot be met through existing support networks, you can contact the Kent Together helpline at www.kent.gov.uk/KentTogether or by calling on 03000 41 92 92. It is a 24 hour service. Kent County Council also has a page on its website answering frequently-asked questions and the very latest Coronavirus information on its service updates page.
